Before founding Healthy Minds NQ, I spent more than a decade working across the community services sector — in community housing, mental health support, and alcohol and other drugs (AOD) counselling. Much of my work focused on supporting individuals experiencing complex life challenges, including those connected to the justice and corrections system. These experiences shaped not only my professional approach but also my deep belief in the power of early intervention, empathy, and genuine connection.

Over the years, I’ve held leadership roles supporting multidisciplinary teams, where I witnessed firsthand the impact of burnout, vicarious trauma, and compassion fatigue among professionals doing vital frontline work. This strengthened my commitment to promoting wellbeing and resilience — not just for those receiving support, but equally for those providing it.

Today, through Healthy Minds NQ, I deliver engaging and practical Mental Health First Aid courses, wellbeing workshops, and accredited training programs designed to build stronger, safer, and more connected communities. My approach is down-to-earth, trauma-informed, and person-centred — focused on creating a space where people feel safe to learn, share, and reflect.

Whether I’m working with a small community group, a regional organisation, or a large corporate team, my goal remains the same: to equip people with the confidence, knowledge, and skills to support themselves and others when it matters most.

At the heart of everything I do is a simple but powerful belief — when we prioritise mental health and empower everyday people with understanding and compassion, we create stronger minds and stronger teams.
